Welcome to our school community!
Hollis sits on the east side of Prince of Wales Island, 22 miles from Craig and 35 miles from Ketchikan, with the Inter-Island Ferry Authority bringing residents and visitors through Clark Bay every day. It is a small, welcoming place where everybody waves.
As a Pre-K through 12 school with multi-age classrooms, our students grow together through mastery learning, project based work, and rich fieldwork alongside their teachers. This year we are especially excited about new Career and Technical Education opportunities opening up across the district, including new pathways in electrical work, construction and tiny homes, HVAC, water systems, and welding, along with hands on intensives on the island and new SkillsUSA and HOSA student organizations launching this year.
We are grateful for a community that shows up for our students, including the Hollis Volunteer Fire Department, which partners with the school on EMT training and a Junior Fire Department program, and hosts the Chili and Cornbread Feed each August. Our school culture is rooted in kindness, teamwork, and shared success.
I am honored to serve as your Area Principal, and I look forward to meeting our students, families, and staff in person this August.
