Welcome to our school community!

In our unique Alaskan setting, education extends beyond the classroom. It is shaped by community, resilience, and a strong connection to the world around us. As a Pre-K through 12 school with multi-age classrooms, we provide a supportive environment where students grow together, build relationships, and develop a true sense of belonging.

This year we are especially excited about new Career and Technical Education opportunities opening up across the district. Students will have access to new pathways in electrical work, developed in partnership with AJEATT and IBEW, along with construction and tiny homes, HVAC, water systems, and welding. Hands-on intensives on Prince of Wales Island, along with new SkillsUSA and HOSA student organizations launching this year, will give students real world experience and a head start toward a skilled career.

What's to Come

This year, SISD is expanding what Career and Technical Education looks like across our island. Students will have new opportunities for work-based learning, gaining real experience alongside local employers and within the district itself. Our CTE trails will give students a clear path from coursework to certification to career, built around each student's own goals. And throughout the year, students will have access to hands-on intensives, both here on Prince of Wales Island and beyond, connecting classroom learning to real industry experience.
